Hendricks Family Christmas Letter 2010

December 2010

Dear Friends,

Merry Christmas! What an exciting year this has been for us! We’ve had many great times, and as the holidays draw near, we appreciate this opportunity to share some of them with you.

We are settling into our life as retirees! Darrell has been playing golf whenever the weather allows, and has made many friends through the sport. In June, Kathy retired from teaching, which has opened a door to new interests, as well as window for travel and fun. We spent three terrific weeks on the East Coast in October, catching up with many old friends and family. It was a wonderful reminder of colorful, New England autumns of the past.

A very special part of our year came in November, when Matt, who is 31, married his beautiful fiancée, Rebecca, in an outdoor ceremony in Auburn. They are happily starting their new life together, living in a cute loft in Auburn, not far from us, while they look for a house.

Now 29, Katie is still enjoying living in Morgan Hill, where she does a great job teaching second grade. She is busy all the time, taking classes, and cooking up delicious things for us to sample. Our “jointly owned” Australian Sheppard, Molly, is happy to keep this dog-lover company!

Mike and Audra are both still teaching in Grass Valley, not far from their lovely home. Audra continues to spend her free time sewing and Mike has become an excellent archer. He belongs to an archer club in Nevada City, where he continues to impress us with his skills.

As this year draws to a close, we realize that we have much to be thankful for. Please drop us a line and let us know how you are doing. We would love to hear from you!
